The UroNova Molecular Inhibitor Coating completely covers the inner and outer surface of the implant or catheter with macromolecular inhibitors. These substances are naturally contained in human urine, being effective against infection and stone formation. Due to its antimicrobial properties the coating proved to be clinically effective as well in other environments, like in bile.

The coating is built up completely with covalent bonds, the strongest bonds in chemistry. Therefore no drug elution takes place and no negative side effects or systemic reactions of the patient to an eluted drug can occur. Furthermore the effectiveness is timewise not limited by the size of the reservoir.

The UroNova Cell Growth coating enables a regular growth of vital cell groups and their proliferation on surfaces where normally no cell growth takes place.

So the UroNova Cell Growth Coating is accelerating healing processes and promoting rapid host tissue ingrowth of surgical and urological meshes. Due to its antimicrobial properties, it furthermore minimises the risk of chronic inflammation and infection.

UroNova Haemocompatibility Coating

The UroNova Haemocompatibility Coating improves significantly the biocompatibility of implant surfaces in contact with blood.

By inactivating coagulation factor Xa the UroNova Haemocompatibility coating interrupts the coagulation cascade. As this is done in a catalytic process, no drug release is necessary. Therefore the ultra thin coating is built up completely with covalent bonds, the strongest bonds in chemistry. No negative side effects or systemic reactions of the patient to an eluted drug can occur. Furthermore the effectiveness is timewise not limited by the size of the reservoir.
